Nathan Purdee
Nathan Purdee has packed a lot of living into a relatively short number of years. Born in Tampa, Florida, he also lived in Washington D.C., California, Germany, Oregon, Colorado, Pennsylvania and New York. His interests include Acting, Painting and Photography.
Purdees’ work as an actor has been seen on ABC, CBS, NBC, HBO, SHOWTIME and PBS. Purdees’ television career began in California in 1982, moving to New York in 1992 under contract to ABC. Purdee has completed three feature films and continues to work on ABC.
Since his move to New York, Purdee has had the lead roles in two independent films and begun his own production company, Karmic Release, Ltd. He served as Executive Producer on his first film, called “one of the outstanding documentaries of the year” by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
In Pennsylvania, Purdee earned his photography degree, and has studied at ICP in New York City. ICP classes included Master Printing with Teresa Engle, and Nude Portraits with Susan Opton. Most recently Purdee studied with legendary photographer, Lucien Clergue, at his workshop in Provence, France.
Purdee shoots with a medium format Hasselblad and a 35mm Nikon, his works include Landscapes, Architecture and Nudes. Purdee has photographed for publishers Simon and Shuster, Confederacy of Silence and for music distributor Siahson, SYLVER.
Purdee lives in Pennsylvania and works in New York City.
