A Few Words About Bertram Ross
A tribute to someone who has passed away is often thought of as a final
tribute. In my mind, there is no finality to the lessons learned from
Bertram Ross. His example of how to live life acts as a beacon shining the
way... showing with perfect truth and clarity that one must with life do
what you love, and love what you do. So, as a living tribute I repeat my
favorite comment from someone who watched the documentary, and who knew
nothing about Bertram beforehand, "Wow, it really does matter what you do
with your life". Bert, thank you for sharing your secrets.
- Richard Morris
The world changed for me on April 20th when Bertram passed. It lost another
member of the generation that understands that life is a gift and it is up
to us to use it honestly and treat it with respect. It's been said we are
made of three parts, Body, Mind, and Spirit. No one better fused these
elements into a single extraordinary person than my friend Bertram Ross.
Bertram is a truthful, smart, elegant, graceful, joyous, angry,
strong, satisfied, courageous, humorist, teacher, dancer, artist, lover,
singer, pianist, W.W.II soldier, and New Yorker... a generous man of quiet
integrity and a loyal friend. Thank you Bertram for the lessons and the
love you have given me. I hope I can live up to them and pass them on. I
will always carry with me that dancing light shining from your eyes.
